Unraveling the Wounds is a semi-abstract painting series that delves into the complex and deeply personal journey of healing from childhood trauma. Through a vibrant and emotive palette, bold brushstrokes, and layered textures, this body of work seeks to visually represent the turbulent and transformative process of confronting and overcoming past wounds. The series is divided into three chapters, each reflecting a distinct stage of the healing journey: Chapter 1: Fractured (representing the fragmented and disjointed state of trauma) Chapter 2: Unraveling (symbolising the gradual uncovering and exploration of past experiences) Chapter 3: Rebirth (embodying the emergence of hope, resilience, and renewal) Through these paintings, I aim to: - Visually convey the emotional intensity and psychological depth of childhood trauma - Explore the therapeutic potential of art-making in processing and healing from trauma - Create a symbolic language that captures the complex nature of trauma and recovery By employing semi-abstract forms and expressive mark-making, I seek to evoke an empathetic response from the viewer, inviting them to embark on their own journey of self-reflection and healing. Themes: - Childhood trauma and its long-term effects - The therapeutic power of art-making in healing - Emotional expression and release - Transformation and resilience - The journey towards hope and recovery Medium: Semi-abstract paintings (oil)
