GUDDO

I lost someone very dear to me last year (2021) due to COVID. Someone very close and special to me, my grandmother. Her name was Nighat Mehmood, but everyone in the family called her Guddo.

She was someone who did not let her age get in the way of her getting ready. She would always stand out in a room with how elegant and proper her clothing always was. It was never plain, simple clothing, expected for an older woman to wear, but beautifully embellished clothes. Not too much, never too little.

I came up with this certain idea for a brand in order to pay homage to my grandmother while also empowering women over a certain age to dress up however they please in order to feel confident and good about themselves. It is about time we stop associating various colors or various styles to only a specific generation. We require a much-needed paradigm shift in the society as well as the minds of older women that it is okay to want to look good and that there is no time limit on confidence.
