Friday, November 24, 2023 Keywords: DBFC, GIKI By: Shama Munir Continue reading Participation In Design, Build, And Fly Competition (DBFC) From Department Of Mechanical Engineering At GIKI Topi The 17th iteration of the Design, Build, and Fly Competition (DBFC-17) took place at Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute (GIKI) in Topi Swabi, KPK from November 24 - 26, 2023. GIKI has been hosting this annual event consistently. Two teams of students, namely Ascenders and Arrowheads, under the supervision of Assistant Professor, Dr. Shoaib Naseem from the Department of Mechanical Engineering, CUI Wah Campus, actively participated in this competition. Team 1: Ascenders Usama Javed Janjua Muhammad Wasay Khalid Muhammad Ahmad Muhammad Hamad Ehsan Waheed Team 2: Arrowhead Sarfaraz Ali Abdul Qudoos Qureshi Abdul Rehman Bhatti Adil Basher Aleem Sadiq Both teams demonstrated remarkable skills and innovation throughout the competition. The design and flight of their aircraft showcased a profound understanding of aerodynamics, structural mechanics, and control systems. The teams from CUI Wah Campus successfully completed all assigned tasks, receiving acclaim from both judges and the audience. Looking ahead, the Department of Mechanical Engineering is committed to participating in the DBFC competition next year, aiming to present even more improved and innovative designs.
