About Us

The Department of Mechanical Engineering (DME), at COMSATS University Islamabad, Wah Campus is synonymous with quality education. Its graduates will be groomed well in multidisciplinary fields of mechanical sciences and engineering and will be well placed in industry, academia and research organizations both nationally and internationally. Established in 2018, the Department of Mechanical Engineering oversees its first graduating batch in 2022.

The Mechanical Engineering Program is accredited by Pakistan Engineering Council as per Outcome Based Education Manual 2017. The forte of the Department is its exceptional faculty graduated and trained from the best educational national and international institutes in teaching and research. DME is committed to deliver quality education with interactive and innovative research methodology and groom its graduates with all aspects of personality development. The Department is equipped with state of the art laboratories for Mechanics of Materials, Fluid Mechanics, Engineering Statics, Engineering Dynamics, Thermodynamics, Workshop, Drawing hall, computer, Electrical Machines for Mechanical Engineers, Control Systems, Circuit analysis, Instrumentation, Internal Combustion Engine, Mechanical Vibration, Heat and Mass Transfer, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning and Physics. The laboratories are adequate to bolster theoretical principals with hands on practice that is conducive for intellectual growth. In addition to these core laboratories, a simulation and project laboratory is also maintained for the facilitation of its graduating students promoting an environment of proactive research. DME also aims to produce innovators and entrepreneurs through industrial partners’ involvement and produce solution providers. The teaching methodology adopted at COMSATS University Islamabad is meticulous, ensuring that its graduates can contribute to the Engineering sector with distinctive and innovating ideas.
