The Department of Mechanical Engineering organized an industrial visit for undergraduate students of 5th Semester to NEWTECH, Islamabad on November 16, 2023.

NEWTECH is a Leading Pipe Manufacturers in Pakistan and one of the fastest-growing pipe industries and a prominent producer of pressure pipes like High-Density Polyethylene Pipes (HDPE), Poly Vinyl Chloride Pipes (PVC), Medium Density Polyethylene Pipes (MDPE), Electrical conduit(EC), Poly Random Co-Polymer (PPRC) pipes and fittings in Pakistan manufacturing industry. The industry manufactured high-quality pipes and fittings including HDPE Pipes, PVC, MDPE, PPRC & ELECTRIC CONDUIT Pipes, and Fittings according to ISO 9001-2015 standards.

Mr. Asim bin Kazim, Managing Director thoroughly explained all the processes to students that are involved in the manufacturing of pressure pipes like HDPE, PVC, MDPE, EC, PPRC pipes and fittings along with the frequent problems that are encountered by various facilities. Mr. Asim bin Kazim graciously offered some of the potential projects that can be offered as Final Year Design Projects to the students.

During the visit, students visited all the departments in the facility and had a fruitful interactive question-answer session with Mr. Asim bin Kazim in which they discussed the roles of a Mechanical Engineer in this industry (Technical and non-technical/management).

At the end Lecturer, Arsalan Hussain thanked the Management of NEWTECH, especially the Managing Director for his warm reception, wonderful hospitality, guidance, and cooperation throughout the visit.
