The Department of Mechanical Engineering, COMSATS University Islamabad (CUI) Wah Campus, in collaboration with the ASME Society – CUI Wah Chapter, successfully organized a seminar titled “Practical Control System with Arduino and MATLAB” for 6th semester students on June 19, 2025.
The resource person of the session was Mr. Muhammad Abdullah Tariq, Manager, National Institute of Electronics. The seminar provided students with an in-depth understanding of essential topics in instrumentation and control systems. Key areas covered included measurement techniques, calibration procedures, signal filtering, noise reduction, and effective methods for extracting accurate signals from noisy data.
A significant aspect of the seminar was the practical demonstration of sensor calibration using Arduino and MATLAB. This hands-on session allowed students to directly engage with real-world applications of control systems, enhancing their theoretical knowledge through practical exposure. The resource person also elaborated on the implementation of control systems such as the PID controller, bridging the gap between academic concepts and industry practices.
In the concluding remarks, the HoD, Dr. Arslan Ahmed, expressed his gratitude to the resource person for delivering such a valuable and insightful session and presented a souvenir in recognition of his contribution to the academic enrichment of the students.
