On behalf of Mr Firmin Edouard Matoko, Assistant Director-General for Priority Africa and External Relations, we are pleased to share with you an Announcement Letter on the 2025-2026 edition of UNESCO/China – the Great Wall Co-Sponsored Fellowships Programme.

 

UNESCO and the Government of China will co-sponsor seventy-five (75) fellowships for the academic year 2025-2026. Among these fellowships, forty-seven (47) vacancies are open for new recruitment to candidates who wish to pursue postgraduate degree studies or one-year visiting scholar programmes in China. Please find the detailed information of the Programme in the attached Application Guidelines, including the list of invited Member States, the procedures to submit candidatures, as well as the relevant forms and instructions for applicants.

 

Please also note that all candidatures must be endorsed by the National Commissions of their respective countries of origin. Moreover, each invited Member State can submit two (2) candidatures, and one of them should be a female candidate. The candidates from Africa and Small Island Developing States (SIDS) are strongly encouraged to apply for this Programme.

 

In addition, candidatures should be submitted by the National Commissions exclusively by e-mail, to the address [thegreatwall@unesco.org]thegreatwall@unesco.orgby 12 February 2025 at the latest. The submitted documents should include an official letter of nomination and the application documents of the nominated candidates.
