"And whoever saves a life, it is as though he had saved the lives of all mankind" (Quran, 5:32).

Compassed by the wisdom of these precious words from the Quran, "The Project Suicide" emerges as an independent initiative, fueled by the passion and dedication of enthusiasts from the humanities department at COMSATS University Islamabad, Pakistan. With a resolute commitment to raising awareness and making a tangible impact on suicide prevention and mental health support, this project stands as a beacon of hope and compassion for the youth of the country. Recognizing the alarming prevalence of suicide among university students, "The Project Suicide" sets its sights on the youth, around the whole country.

In 2022, "The Project Suicide" was chosen as one of 15 projects worldwide, out of 3000, for the prestigious "Under the Starry Sky" Program by the World Federation of United Nations Associations (WFUNA). This recognition highlights the project's commitment to contributing to the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals, with a particular focus on SDG 3: Good Health and Well-Being for all. For the month of September, they are invited by WFUNA, to take part in an expedition in Norway, where they will present their project, meet with other candidates, local businessmen and other exciting people from around the world.

Phase 1 of the project explored the innovative approach of Adventure Psychology, paving the way for a bolder mission in 2022, under the theme "If Hope is gone, then use the Despair", with raising awareness and psychoeducation as the main objectives. Through a series of carefully curated events, including sessions at cities like Peshawar, Chakwal, Islamabad and Skardu, they have gained crucial insights into the diverse challenges faced by male and female students. Now more than 50 volunteers from Comsats are working under their umbrella for the same goal. So far thousands of individuals have been psycho-educated, with hundreds more given hope and a new lease on life, while the work of its members has resulted in several lives saved from suicide directly.

With their motto, “it takes one smile from a stranger to save a life”, they work ever more so every day, with dedication in mind and compassion in heart, in saving the youth of the country, one life at a time
