A one-day workshop on the "Role of Faculty as Nation Builders: Developing Nation Builders and Entrepreneurs for the Future" took place on December 15, 2023, for faculty members from COMSATS University Islamabad, Islamabad Campus and other universities in Islamabad and Rawalpindi. The workshop was held at the Junaid Zaidi Library, Video Conference Hall, COMSATS University Islamabad (CUI), Islamabad Campus.

The workshop aimed to revitalize participants' entrepreneurial mindset, unlocking opportunities for micro and macro entrepreneurship in Pakistan. It empowered attendees with strategies for developing relevant entrepreneurship educators, effective approaches to infuse entrepreneurial spirit into degree programs, and insights into transforming universities into thriving entrepreneurial hubs, fostering a culture of entrepreneurship among faculty members in Pakistan.

Professor Dr. Shahid Qureshi, the Rector of GIFT University, along with speaker from Technical University Berlin, Germany, led and conducted the workshop. Prof. Dr. Shahid Qureshi actively promotes entrepreneurial education in Pakistan, previously he had served on boards like IGNITE, and worked towards transforming universities into entrepreneurial hubs.

The workshop began with the recitation of the Glorious Quran. The welcome address was given by Prof. Dr. Shamsul Qamar, In-Charge Office of Research, Innovation and Commercialization (ORIC). Initially, the resource person delved into crucial aspects, including strategies for developing entrepreneurship educators that are pertinent to the present-day context. In the later sessions the participants learned effective approaches to transform existing degree programs, infusing them with an entrepreneurial spirit. The workshop also addressed the broader scope of institutional change, providing insights into the techniques required to evolve a university into a thriving entrepreneurial hub. The workshop concluded with the distribution of certificates to the participants by Prof. Dr. Sajid Qamar, Rector of COMSATS University Islamabad.

Sixty participants from COMSATS Islamabad and Abbottabad Campus, Bahria University, Foundation University, Rashid Latif Khan along with the National University of Medical Sciences, actively engaged in this extensive day-long workshop. Prof. Dr. Adnan Noor, Vice Chancellor of Information Technology University (ITU), attended the workshop on special invitation by the resource person. The participants conveyed their appreciation for the invaluable information and skills gained during the workshop.

This workshop was jointly organized by the Directorate of Planning, Development, and Human Resource Development and Office of Research, Innovation and Commercialization.

A one-day workshop on Personality Development, Team Building, and Leadership Skills was held on November 23, 2023. The workshop took place at the SSBC, BIC Building, COMSATS University Islamabad (CUI), Islamabad Campus.

The objective of the workshop was to emphasize the role of personality traits in professional interactions and explore how these traits shaped communication and collaboration. The workshop also discussed individual skills for effective team leadership, addressing challenges in an academic setting.

Dr. Hammad Omer (TI), Head of the International Office and Associate Professor at the Department of Bio-Sciences, conducted the workshop. Dr Hammad Omer is a PhD graduate from Imperial College London and an accomplished bioengineering researcher, serving as the resource person, bringing a blend of academic excellence and practical insights.

The workshop began with the recitation of the Glorious Quran. The welcome address was given by Director P, D, and HRD, Dr. Tahir Naeem. The honorable Rector, Prof. Dr. Sajid Qamar, graced the opening session with his presence. Initially, the resource person delved into various personality traits, prompting participants to complete a questionnaire aimed at identifying these traits. Subsequently, group activities tailored to the identified traits were organized to foster comprehension and collaboration among participants and within subgroups. The final session of the workshop consisted of a discussion on instilling leadership skills among employees to enhance organizational performance. The workshop concluded with the distribution of certificates for the participants and a memento for the resource person.

A total of thirty-two participants from 20 different departments, including those from the Islamabad Campus and Principal seat officers, attended this comprehensive day-long workshop. The attendees expressed their gratitude for the valuable information and skills acquired during the session.

I am directed to forward herewith the attached 14th call for Workshop Proposal - Annual Gul Meeting to be held in Cambridge UK from July 9-11, 2024.
The Gulf Research Meeting (GRM) offers a unique environment to explore matters of key importance to the Gulf region and provides a platform for discussion and dissemination of research in a wide variety of Gulf-related fields, including economic and financial issues, international relations, security, environment, energy and renewable energy, as well as education, labour and social issues. Committed to a high-level academic standard, the GRM's objective is to help generate solutions to many of the region's pressing challenges.
Therefore, the Gulf Research Center (GRC) seeks to invite scholars and specialists to apply to direct a workshop focusing on the political, economic, security or social issues of the Gulf region. A number of topics for which proposals are listed on the call poster. However, it is important to stress that the Call is open to any topic in the social science and not limited to the topic listed on the poster.
