The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) is requesting proposals for its SDG4 Navigator to advance quality education in Asia and the Pacific.

To strengthen advocacy and communications, priority areas of work listed below will be supported by SDG4 Navigators—diverse and inspiring leaders from the Asia-Pacific region—in collaboration with the Director of the UNESCO Regional Office in Bangkok, and guide others in line with the vision of Education 2030 and the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Qualitative research methods is considered as a widely used technique catering a vast discipline of social sciences in specific and natural sciences in general. Understanding the theory and application of qualitative research methods, and accompanying tools and techniques not only improves quality of research output but also helps a given research to earn greater weight in academics. This 2-day training workshop will make participants understand the theoretical principles and practical skills required for conducting and evaluating qualitative research. In line with these features of qualitative research the workshop has two broad objectives:

Understating basics of the theory and process of qualitative research 

Using the software NVivo 11 to arrange and analyze qualitative data

The workshop has been designed for the people involved in research or managing research in terms of designing or conducting qualitative research, training research staff, and evaluating research contracts etc. There is no prerequisite of prior knowledge of qualitative research to join this workshop.

The Islamic Development Bank Group is pleased to invite individuals, universities, academic, financial and Islamic institutions throughout the world to nominate whoever they deem eligible to be awarded the IDB Prize for the year 1438H (2017G) in the field of Islamic Economics. The Prize which aims to recognize, reward and encourage creative efforts of outstanding merit in the field of Islamic economics, consists of a citation carrying the IDB’s emblem and a cash award of 30,000 Islamic Dinars (approximately US$ 45,000).

About the IDB Prize???

Every year IRTI coordinates the award of IDB Prize in Islamic Economics / Islamic Banking & Finance. This international award, which alternates between the fields of Islamic economics and Islamic banking and finance was instituted in 1408H (1988) with the objective of recognizing, rewarding and encouraging creative efforts of outstanding merit in the fields of Islamic economics, banking and finance. Since then, 32 personalities and institutions have been awarded this Prize. The Prize includes a citation acknowledging the contribution of the Prize Winner and a cash award of Islamic Dinars 30,000 (approximately US$ 45,000).
