Erasmus+ is the European Union’s programme supporting projects and exchange for education, training, and youth worldwide. This webinar is about Erasmus+ opportunities for exchange and cooperation open to organisations and individuals across the globe, working in partnership with their peers from 33 EU Member States and associated countries.

It offers a unique opportunity for participants to better understand all aspects and benefits of these programmes.

Who was it for?

How does it work?

The use of smart technologies in health sector of Pakistan is considerably limited than in the developed countries. To develop Remote Health Monitoring solutions to reduce the mortality rate of women and children, to timely address the maternity related issues in remote areas and to monitor old people, Department of Computer Science - COMSATS University Islamabad (CUI), Wah Campus along with four partner universities across the globe has won a project SAFE-RH under “Erasmus + 2020 Program of the EU.” Applying Remote Health Monitoring in rural areas of Pakistan to deliver and assist with the delivery of healthcare services can reduce or minimize challenges and burdens patients' encounter, such as transportation issues related to traveling for specialty care. Remote Health Monitoring can also improve monitoring, timeliness, and communications within the healthcare system.

Today, COMSATS University Islamabad (CUI) got the privilege and honor to receive the first inward mobility of year 2019 funded through Erasmus+ program of the European Union.

The delegation from Istanbul Sehir University, Turkey, is visiting CUI as a partner institution under Erasmus +. The Turkish university has earlier hosted a number of students from CUI and further plans to host more students, faculty and staff in the coming semesters.

The visit is of a week’s duration and will involve interactive meeting sessions at two CUI campuses, i.e. Islamabad & Lahore, with extensive one to one interactions with relevant CUI officials.

The visit is organized in the broader context of strengthening internationalization efforts at CUI and will therefore boost the professional relationship between the two universities to further facilitate mobilities from both sides.  It is expected that the visit will also open up avenues of networking, exchange of best practices and learning from each other’s experiences in the field of hostel management.  Not to forget, ties between both the countries will also be strengthened.
