The University of Tokyo ADB-Japan Scholarship Program (ADB-JSP) 2026 offers a fully funded opportunity for talented students from developing countries, including Pakistan, to pursue a master’s degree at the University of Tokyo’s Graduate School of Frontier Sciences (GSFS). This life-changing scholarship is funded by the Government of Japan and administered by the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
Course Level: Master
Subject: Degrees awarded upon completion:
a. Master of Environmental Studies for those completing the master's program in Dept. of Natural Environmental Studies, Dept. of Human and Engineered Environmental Studies, Dept. of Ocean Technology, Policy and Environmental Studies, Dept. of Socio-cultural Environmental Studies and Dept. of Environment Systems.
b. Master of International Studies for those completing the master's program in Dept. of International Studies.
c. Master of Sustainability Studies for those completing the master's program in the Graduate Program in Sustainability Science.
Grants: Full tuition fees coverage
· Monthly subsistence allowance for living expenses
· Medical and accident insurance
· Books and study materials
· Travel allowance (including airfare)
· Research support related to thesis work
Eligibility criteria: Must be a citizen of an ADB borrowing member country (? Pakistan is eligible). · Must hold a bachelor’s degree with an excellent academic record.
· Age limit: Candidates should be under 35 years at the time of application.
· English proficiency is required (TOEFL/IELTS or equivalent).
· Relevant professional work experience is considered an asset.
· Applicants must apply for a master’s program only (PhD is not supported).
