COMSATS University Islamabad Condoles the Sad Demise of Iranian President and His Companions
Islamabad, May 23, 2024 – COMSATS University Islamabad has expressed profound sorrow over the tragic death of the Iranian President, Dr. Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi, along with Iranian Foreign Minister, Hossein Amirabdollahian, and their companions in a helicopter crash that occurred on Sunday.
Prof. Dr. Sajid Qamar, Rector, COMSATS University Islamabad, conveyed heartfelt condolences to the Iranian Ambassador to Pakistan, H.E. Mr. Reza Amiri Moghadam. In his message, Dr. Qamar Stated:
“Excellency, our hearts are saddened by the news of the untimely passing of the late President Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi and his companions. In this moment of grief, we stand with the people of Iran and extend condolences to the families of those lost in this tragic accident. Indeed, the Muslim World has suffered the loss of a great leader with the passing of Dr. Raisi.”
Dr. Qamar emphasized the deep sense of loss felt by the entire university community and expressed solidarity with the Iranian nation during this difficult time.
