Dr. Syed Iftikhar Ahmad attended the workshop on Water Resources Management at UET Lahore on August 29^th, 2016 jointly organized by STEDEC technology Commercialization Corporation of Pakistan, Centre of Excellence in Water Resources Engineering University of Engineering & Technology Lahore, Stakeholder Consultation. In which renowned experts from all over the Pakistan along with Federal Minister for Science & Technology & Defence Production Rana Tanver Hussain participated as Chief Guest.

Major theme of the workshop is poor water resources management due to which the crises in energy and agriculture sector facing by the country and solutions based on the renewable energy technologies. In the event Federal Minister for Science and Technology & Defense Production Rana Tanveer Hussain said that research based planning is need of time to manage the water resources in adequate manners to fulfill the needs of country in agriculture and other sectors.  He stated that traditional ways of water management may be replaced with latest techniques and equipment to get more production in agriculture and energy sector and also reduce the water losses.

Managing Director STEDEC Technology Commercialization Corporation of Pakistan Syed Raza Abbas Shah stated that the prime objective of STEDEC is to provide cooperation to indigenous research organizations to commercialize their products, alternate imports and enhance the exports capacity for economic growth of Pakistan which will be continued in future. He said that all concerned organizations must active their Research and Development Departments to manage the water resources adequately.
