I am proud to have earned my Master of Science in English (Linguistics and Literature) from the Lahore campus of COMSATS University Islamabad (CUI). My journey at CUI was an enriching dive into academic research, English Literature, Women’s Writings, and South Asian Visual Narratives. My educational journey culminated with my MS thesis on the renowned Nobel Prize laureate Doris Lessing. This scholarly endeavor was undertaken under the astute mentorship of Doctor Jaleel Akhtar, a distinguished former Assistant Professor in the Department of Humanities. I worked on the crucial, timely, and relevant subject of “power-dynamics” in Lessing’s fiction, using the framework of the significant French theorist Michel Foucault. Exploring the CUI Lahore Library while working on my thesis is a vivid memory. The campus’s flowers and greenery had a mystical impact, inspiring me to make a meaningful difference. The exceptional teachers I encountered during my MS left a lasting impression. As a teacher today, I strive to emulate their creative methodologies, dedication, and genuine care for students. My time at CUI Lahore was a self-enlarging experience. It motivated me to learn, be creative, and reflect empathy continuously. It significantly contributed to my growth, shaping me into the educator I am today. Beyond teaching, I am also a creative writer, composing poetry and prose in Urdu. As I envision contributing to a thriving academic environment, I am eager to channel my creativity, scholarship, and potential to become a vital asset and a valuable member of society.
