Program Overview

The Department of Management Sciences at CUI Sahiwal Campus has started PhD program, which is both academically sound and closely-knit with corporate dynamics and emerging challenges facing the businesses in Pakistan. The program will help scholars to acquire requisite knowledge, much-needed skill set, and rich research exposure to observe and resolve the real-time socio-economic problems. Further, this endeavor will significantly contribute towards improving intellectual capital at the individual level. Overall, this program will help nourish the culture of philosophical debate of sustainable growth in the realm of business and management in the developing context of Southern Punjab. PhD Management Sciences will offer specialization in the following areas:

Objective

The objective of this post graduate program is to make all the students capable to conduct research and possess appropriate cogent and tangible knowledge in business and management. Further, it advances in-depth study of specialized areas in management, finance and marketing. PhD in Management Sciences inform scholars of the latest advancements in respective field and acquaint with the recent research and development progression across the globe.

Scope Regarding Market, Social and Employment Perspective of Program

The department has the adequate capability to pioneer the field of graduate-level business studies in the region. The objective of the program is to foster and uplift the business education and research for sustainable development in central and southern Punjab. Observing the research profile of the department and its unique positioning in the region, proposed Ph.D. Management Sciences will provide a first-mover advantage and a competitive edge to the department in particular and CUI in general. Department of Management Sciences is the pioneer department of CUI Sahiwal having unparalleled regional significance. Its historical and geographical significance makes it an important higher education department in business within a diameter of almost 300 KM’s. Since Spring-2012, the department has admitted 15 batches of MS(MS) and has successfully concluded these with the help of research-oriented Ph.D. faculty. Presently, the department has 9 Ph.D faculty members.

Admission Process and Entry Requirements

• MS/M. Phil or equivalent degree in the relevant field from accredited institution with CGPA 3.0/4.0 or 70% marks with no third division (or D grade) throughout academic career.
• NTS GAT (subject) with a minimum score of 60.
