BS English Program

Program Overview

The key aim to offer BS English Program in Language and Literature is to familiarize students with modern Linguistics and grammatical theories in accordance with approaches to English language. One of the main focus is to introduce learners to the courses from diverse fields to promote trans disciplinary linguistic and text analysis in their historical, sociopolitical, cultural, and philosophical contexts to develop an understanding of different genres and forms of literary expression.

The Program courses focuses on reviewing and rethinking knowledge and assumptions about literature and literary meaning along with acquiring knowledge of linguistics, literary, critical and cultural theories to deploy these ideas into critical analysis.

Our BS English program spans 133 credit hours and includes course modules in all major business administration subject areas. In addition, CUI offers a large number of electives from which our students can freely choose.

The minimum duration for completion of BS English Degree is eight semesters and a maximum of twelve semesters. It is awarded on completion of 133 Credits hours with a minimum CGPA of 2.0/4.0. Furthermore, the students also complete an internship of three credit hours.

  • Sociolinguistics

Special features and objectives

The objectives for this degree program are to:

  • Familiarize students with the fundamental bodies of theoretical and applied knowledge of Linguistics represented in the core courses.
  • Provide students an opportunity to learn new tools and techniques in areas of multiple English literature courses as represented in upper level courses.
  • Enable students to integrate formal academic learning with their market related experiential learning.
  • Encourage self-improvement and professional growth among students.
  • Expose students to the global industry environment.

Admission and Eligibility

Session: The programs are offered in Fall (September) and Spring (February)

Qualification: Intermediate or equivalent (‘A’ Level) with minimum 50% marks from accredited institution is required.

Test and Score: NTS-NAT test score with minimum 50%
