American Society for Mechanical Engineers COMSATS University Islamabad Wah chapter (ASME CUI Wah) successfully conducted “MechFest 2022” event on June 16, 2022 at COMSATS University Islamabad, Wah Campus. The MechFest 2022 event consisted of Design Competition and Line-Tracking Robot Competition.

The 22 participants participated in the Design Competition and 15 teams participated in the Line Tracking robot competition. The head of the Automotive Electronics Lab of the National Institute of Electronics, Islamabad, Engr. Abdul Hadi and Engr. Fazal Ur Rehman from Punjab group of colleges were the judges for Line-Tracking Competition. Dr. Ghulam Zakaria from NESCOM, Islamabad was a judge of the Design Competition.

The Director Campus/ HoD Mechanical Engineering, Prof. Dr. Muhamad Abid,T.I., was the Chief Guest of the event. In his remarks he appreciated the efforts of ASME Society for the successful conduct of the Mechest 2022 event in a very well-organized manner. He congratulated all winners and runner-up’s of the competitions. He specially thanked the judges for their valuable contribution. At the end of the ceremony, the Director Campus presented the CUI souvenirs to the judges and distributed the prize money among the winners. Nauman Imran from BS Mechanical Engineering 4th semester got the first prize of Rs 3000 for winning the Design Competition. The Line-Tracking competition was won by the group of students from BS Mechanical Engineering 6th and 4th semester and got a winning prize of Rs. 5000.

The Assistant Professor, Dr. Muhammad Shoaib Naseem, in his vote of thanks appreciated the organizers and thanked the support of all staff members. Assistant Professor Dr. Muhammad Shakeel concluded the event with that ASME CUI Wah chapter planned to continue the MechFest event as an annual event with many other engineering events in the coming years, in shah Allah.
