Wednesday, March 30, 2022 Keywords: workshop By: Shama Munir Continue reading Workshop - Introduction To Solid Works For Mechanical Engineers The Department of Mechanical Engineering (CUI Wah) in collaboration with AIAA CUI Wah society arranged a seminar, titled “Introduction to Solid Works for Mechanical Engineer” for graduate and undergraduate students in university campus on 30th March 2022. This session was conducted by Engr. Zubair Hassan who is an Application Engineer at Quality Solutions Islamabad. The students of Mechanical Engineering attended the seminar. The speaker introduced students with Demonstration of Solid Works Capabilities including its all features e.g., Part Modelling, Surfaces, Sheet Metal, Simulations, Assembly and Drawing etc. . During lecture students were informed in detail about application of the drawing and Cad software and he also represents the Quality Solutions on various platforms with the services it has to offer. Students enjoyed lecture as it was about application of their concepts for solving real world problems. Solid Works and other CAD software were discussed in detail and its parametric study were also presented to students so that they can design the models in future. Stress Analysis, Fatigue Analysis, Buckling Analysis, Thermal Analysis, CFD Analysis, Drop Test Analysis and Non Linear Analysis were also discussed to inspire student’s design knowledge, so they will a certain direction while designing their models for their final year projects . At last, the speaker discussed about the facts of Solid Works and responsibilities of an design engineer to progress in future. At the end students had very fruitful interactive question answer session with the speaker. Students acknowledged the emergence of Solid Works in the field of Mechanical Engineering. The session ended with the Director, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Abid addressing to the students and presenting souvenir shield to the speaker.
