The Department of Mechanical Engineering, ASHRAE COMSATS Wah Campus Chapter arranged a seminar “Basics of Air Conditioning and Energy Saving” on February 19, 2020. The aim of the seminar was to provide knowledge on Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) system installed in large buildings. The resource persons, Chief Engineer from HVAC plant, Centaurus Mall Islamabad, Mr.  Awais Jalali, Founder Member of HVACR Society /ASHRAE, Mr. Ather Naseem Siddiqi and Mr. Riaz Baig briefed students on HVAC systems control i.e. boilers, chillers and pumps and shared their expertise on enhancing electricity consumption, controlling the temperature, humidity and air quality to provide comfortable indoor central cooling environment in building. The students also presented prototype of building cooling system to the experts. The seminar ended on vote of thanks with presenting campus souvenir to guest speakers.
