Biography:

Dr. Khalid Iqbal is a distinguished tenured associate professor of Computer Science at the COMSATS University Islamabad, Attock Campus (12-08-2014 to 30-08-2024) served in different roles and now serving in Wah campus. He received his B.Sc. degree with Mathematics and statistics and later M.Sc. degree in Statistics from University of the Punjab, Lahore and MS in computer science from SZABIST Islamabad. Also, he received his PhD. Degree in Computer Science from University of Science and Technology Beijing in 2014.

His research focuses on Information retrieval, machine learning, Deep learning application in several applied research domains like medical imaging of lungs cancer, agricultural side of fruits and social media. Over his career, Dr. Khalid has held a faculty position at the leading national institution of South Asia. He has taught a variety of courses at undergraduate and graduate level, including Advanced Analysis of algorithms.

Dr. Khalid has published numerous articles in top-tier journals international conferences and has been a PI/Co-PI in several collaborative research projects aimed at developing innovative research ideas.

His work has earned him a prestigious award, including the Best researcher Award. Dr. Khalid is also an active member of the several departmental and campus level committees and serves on the member editorial board of different international journals as well as served as Head in the department.

Outside of his professional life, Dr. Khalid enjoys hiking and gardening, which complement his passion for environmental conservation. His contributions have significantly advanced our understanding of climate issues and continue to influence the field of computer science.
