Dr Ali Eqani is serving as Tenured Associate Professor at COMSATS University Islamabad in the area of Environmental Health/Geo-medical Sciences. Dr Eqani was awarded a doctoral degree from Quaid I Azam University in 2012 and his first postdoctoral fellowship was from IUE, CAS, China (2015-17) and his recent postdoctoral visit to D-lab, MIT, Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA (2022-23). Dr Ali Eqani has been investigating the cycling and exposure pathways (focusing drinking water) of health-impacting (neuro, reproductive, developmental) Organic Pollutants (POPs, PAHs, Flame retardants, and PFOAS) and Geogenic contaminants (particularly Arsenic and Fluoride). He has more than 100 manuscripts (>4000 citation, h-index 34, >500 impact factor) that are published in high-ranked journals (including science magazine). The topics of his research are timely and of importance to Pakistan, supported through excellent national/international funding sources. He also serves as a consultant to various international organizations such as the WHO, FAO, and UNDP. By being active in these organizations, Dr. Eqani spotlight the drinking water related health issues (like Arsenic, fluoride, and others) of Pakistan at national/international level and also get the national/international authorities to concentrate and help with drinking water related problems in Pakistan.
