Biography:
Abdul Majid Qureshi graduated with Bachelors in Pharmacy (2008) from Hamdard University, Karachi (Islamabad Campus), securing overall 3rd position and Masters (M.Phil) in Virology and Immunology (2011) from the NUST Center of Virology and Immunology (NCVI), Islamabad as NUST Merit Scholar. Later he pursued a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) majoring in Marketing from Hamdard University Karachi (2020).
Abdul Majid served the Production Departments of Scotmann Pharma, Islamabad, and AMSON Vaccines and Pharma, Islamabad, as Production Pharmacist. During July 2009 - 2011, he served as Undergrad Teaching Assistant in NUST.
In October 2011, he joined the School of Pharmacy, University of Lahore, as Lecturer.
He was appointed to the COMSATS Institute of Information Technology (CIIT) and deputed to the Commission on Science and Technology for Sustainable Development in the South (COMSATS) in April 2013, where he served as Research Scholar (Executive Director's Secretariat). He coordinated international capacity building programs on Science Journalism, National Innovation System (NIS), Intellectual Property, Biosafety and Biosecurity as well as Science Communication engaging with partner organizations of COMSATS Secretariat including UNESCO, ICESCO, ECOSF, PAS, PSF, TWAS, COMSATS Internet Services and INIT among others. During this tenure, he gained experience in programs of bilateral/multilateral S&T cooperation, Science diplomacy and successfully organized scientific capacity building events in Pakistan, Tunisia, Jordan and Morocco. He is also an alumnus of the AAAS-TWAS Summer Course on Science Diplomacy (2015), Trieste, Italy.
Abdul Majid Qureshi was posted to the Centre for Professional Development, Office of Research, Innovation and Commercialization (ORIC) in September 2016, where he implemented several programs of professional and executive development, and Cubator-1ne in August 2017, where he served as Secretary, Cubator Board of Management, actively participating in policy drafting, operations management and encouraging Faculty/Student Startups through mentorship and a value driven culture.
Since August 2018, he is serving the Rector's Secretariat (Principal Seat) as Staff Officer to Rector, where he is responsible for assisting the Rector with Communications, Media, Liaison, Coordination and managing administrative activities of the Rector's Secretariat.
