Biography:

Dr. Majid Jamal Khan is Ph.D in Finance from the Institute de Gestion de Rennes (IGR-IAE)-Univeriste de Rennes-1, France. Before that he did Masters in Advanced Studies and Research in Finance from the same institute. His Teaching and Research Expertise relate to the UN SDG-4, SDG-8, SDG-9 and SDG-13. He has remained a visiting faculty at the ESC-Rennes School of Business, Rennes, France (an AACSB accredited business School) between 2011-2013. Currently, he is Tenured Associate Professor of Finance with COMSATS University Islamabad, Wah Campus. He is an active member of the Network of Islamic Finance Experts of the Centre of Islamic Finance (CIF) of COMSATS University Islamabad, Lahore Campus. He organized awareness workshops on Islamic Finance in collaboration with the State Bank of Pakistan, Bank Islami and Meezan Bank Ltd. He is also a Co-Author of the “Text Book on Islamic Finance” for undergraduate students, the first textbook on Islamic Finance in the country. His teaching and research interests include Corporate Finance, Corporate Governance, Islamic Finance and Sustainability and Climate Change and has publications in local as well as international journals of repute. He has successfully supervised 22 MS thesis and 2 PhD thesis with 3 PhDs thesis in Progress. During his working at CUI he introduced some notable academic, research and cocurricular initiatives include initiating a Monthly Departmental Research Seminar by the name of  “The Researcher’s Bhaytak”, a Career counselling workshop for graduating students of various departments of CUI, Wah by the name of “The Launch Pad…” and the introduction of a new course “Financial Derivatives & Risk Management ” at the undergraduate level in Finance specialization.
