Islamabad United is one of the six franchise teams in Pakistan Super League (PSL) and is the winner of the first season of the PSL. The franchise believes in bringing change to Pakistani sports with the introduction of international standards of practice and a commitment of continuous progress while championing the cause of restoring our environment. Islamabad United in its bid to protect Pakistan from the universal threat of global warming has partnered with WWF-Pakistan to promote and create the awareness of green environment.
Islamabad United has started its #1Run1Tree initiative in partnership with WWF Pakistan. Islamabad United has pledged to plant a tree for every run that is scored, and 10 for every wicket that is taken, by Islamabad United players in the PSL and the Pakistan team at ICC events it is victorious in. We are starting by celebrating Pakistan's monumental win at the ICC Champion's Trophy last year by planting 1,400 indigenous trees in collaboration with WWF-Pakistan! To fulfill this promise and to create awareness of this crucial issue, Islamabad United will plant a tree in the premises of COMSATS University.
