COMSATS University Islamabad had the honor of hosting Dr. Mahmoud Al-Habbash, Advisor to the President of Palestine on Religious Affairs, Chief Justice of the Shariat Court, and Esteemed Imam of Masjid Al-Aqsa, along with his distinguished delegation, on Thursday, September 4, 2025 at the EE Seminar Hall.
Dr. Al-Habbash was warmly received by Mr. Naveed Ahmad Khan, General Manager CUI, and later formally welcomed by Prof. Dr. Sajid Qamar, Rector CUI, Prof. Shamsul Qamar, Registrar, Prof. Dr. Sajjad Madani, Controller of Examinations, and Mr. Muhammad Azam, Treasurer.
As a gesture of goodwill, shields were exchanged between the distinguished guest and the university leadership. A shield was presented to Dr. Al-Habbash by the Rector, while Prof. Dr. Sajid Qamar also received a shield in recognition of his role and contributions.
Following the shield exchange, Dr. Al-Habbash delivered his address on “The Current Situation in Gaza and Seerat-un-Nabi (PBUH)”. In his insightful talk, he highlighted the resilience of the Palestinian people amidst the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza, stressing the importance of global solidarity, justice, and unwavering faith. He also reflected on the timeless teachings of the Seerat-un-Nabi (PBUH), drawing lessons of patience, compassion, and steadfastness relevant to the struggles of oppressed communities today.
The event concluded with words of thanks from the university leadership, marking a memorable occasion of solidarity and academic exchange at COMSATS University Islamabad.
