Minus 7

‘Minus 7’ is the world painted as I experience it; softened at the edges, quiet and unclear, yet deeply felt. The world dissolves into diffused shapes and shifting light, suspended somewhere between clarity and haze. Living with gradual vision loss, without my glasses, what is lost in clarity is replaced by feeling; a sense of stillness, intimacy, and quiet observation. In this blurred state, spaces are not defined by details, but by how they make you feel. My landscape paintings do not aim to replicate perfect vision, but to reimagine how we see, not through precision, but through presence. It is less about what is lost, and more about what is revealed when the visual noise fades. By embracing the blur instead of resisting it, I explore how perception isn’t fixed, it shifts with how we see, what we feel, and what we carry within. Through my painting, I invite others into this altered way of seeing; quiet, slow and soft.
