‘Jugni’ is a design-led cultural revival project that focuses on the decline of the Punjabi language in Pakistan and reimagines its comeback for a new generation. Jugni is not just a brand, but a movement to promote Punjabi and reclaim its place in everyday culture. It addresses how the language has been sidelined, often perceived as outdated or uncool, especially among urban youth. Jugni uses bold visuals, memes, merchandise, and interactive experiences to build a movement that makes Punjabi feel modern, relevant, and unapologetically proud. Through a blend of pop culture and traditional identity, the project creates a narrative that speaks directly to Gen Z, sparking interest, pride, and emotional connection with our mother tongue. This thesis isn’t just about saving a language, it’s about celebrating it, owning it, and bringing it back into everyday life with style and purpose.
