Afsoon is a visual world-building project centered on the revival and reinterpretation of Pakistan’s regional folklore. Drawing from centuries-old myths, oral histories, and spiritual traditions from areas such as Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Gilgit-Baltistan, Afsoon responds to a pressing cultural gap: the lack of documentation and representation of indigenous mythologies in contemporary media.

While global pop culture continues to celebrate Norse, Greek, or Japanese mythology through games, films, and art, Pakistan's own mythic heritage remains fragmented, underrepresented, and at risk of erasure. Afsoon aims to address this void by reconstructing these forgotten narratives into a cohesive fictional universe using character design, world-building, mixed media illustration, and narrative artifacts.

The project serves as a creative archive, fictional but deeply rooted in cultural truths, where folklore can be reimagined without losing its essence. Through this visual language, Afsoon attempts to bring these tales into mainstream consciousness, inviting new generations to rediscover, engage with, and take pride in their cultural myths.
