My thesis explores the complexities of cultural identity among Pakistani youth through the medium of an interactive board game titled Desi or Desi Not? Bridging humor, nostalgia, and social commentary, the game playfully navigates the clash between traditional (Desi) and modern (Burger) identities. Through research, it was proven there is a distinct tension between these two cultural identities among Pakistan Youth. This is an opportunity for our youth to set aside their differences and play together despite their identity. The aim is to spark conversations around societal norms, class divides, and generational influences in a format that is both entertaining and thought-provoking. By combining game design with cultural critique, this project offers a unique lens into how Pakistani youth define and perform their identities in everyday life.
