The Lurking Curse is a video game created for my final year thesis in Visual Communication Design. The game is based on real-life criminals from Pakistan, including Aamir Qayyum, Muhammad Sarwar, Javed Iqbal, and Zahir Jaffer. It is made for players aged 16 and above. In the game, players choose to play as either a male or female hero. They move through different levels, each based on a different criminal and the crimes they committed. As the player moves forward, the game becomes more difficult. The goal is to fight against these evils and bring light to crimes that are not well known in our society. The project uses hand-drawn illustrations, animations, and user-friendly design to tell a strong and meaningful story. The Lurking Curse is not just about gameplay — it is also about spreading awareness and making people think about real issues through visual storytelling.
