While life is a shared experience, much of these experiences are shrouded in secrecy due to societal norms and cultural taboos. One of the most prominent being when a menstruator reaches menarche.

Almost half of the world’s population goes through menstruation(mahwari), yet this topic is considered taboo. Through Nisa, I aim to educate young menstruators and non-menstruators about menstruation, to remove the stigma and have a comfortable dialogue around it.

The animations of this project were created to destigmatize conversations around Mahwari so young menstruators can understand and not be afraid of this natural process.
