Tarz/طرز is a modern, experimental Urdu typeface born out of a deep dive into the history of the language's digital progression in aims to release all anxieties surrounding it while working as a designer.

The project is based on the experimental Dot and Line graphic system, also known as the Hofmann Tangent, presented by the revered Swiss graphic designer Armin Hofmann. The system consists of a grid of dots which are then connected through tangent lines. It is one of his wide range of visual experiments which allows designers to explore the relationship between basic elements of design, and the importance of creating visual variations.

The typeface, in its finality, is a contribution to the Urdu language and hopes to serve as a reminder for designers to keep experimenting and to encourage them to reconnect with their own language.
