Dera Ismail Khan, a city rich in history, culture, and untold narratives remains largely underrepresented. It lies in the southern part of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, near the Punjab's border. This region has seen various rulers and was a part of the Mauryan Empire, and the Ghaznavid Empire.

In "Dera Ismail Khan - an archival of visual tales," my thesis explores the rich tapestry that captures this region's soul through photographs and personal accounts from people who have lived in Dera Ismail Khan through a coffee table book.
