Report on Seminar “How to Export” Organized by Vehari Chamber of Commerce held at Kamal Palace, Vehari, on 5 April, 2016
In a short span of time, COMSATS Institute of Information Technology Vehari has proved itself as a leading degree awarding institutes in Sothern Punjab. The department of management sciences at Vehari campus focuses on training and educating students and in learning practical business skills in order to expand their intellectual and ethical framework to respond to the challenges and opportunities of the constantly changing market place. For this reason, conferences, seminars, workshops, trainings, and meetings are considered important in and outside the campus because these kinds of activities instill confidence and self-belief in the students, trainers and for teachers also for becoming future researchers and business leaders.
Seminar on “How to Export”?
Exports play an important role in Pakistan’s economy, influencing the level of economic growth, employment and the balance of payments. Lower transport costs, globalization, economies of scale and reduced tariff barriers have all helped exports become a bigger share of national income in the post war period. This Seminar “Ho0w to Export”, sponsored by Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP), was really successful. These type of seminars Contribute to and learn about the most recent advances in export and import sector as there were several successful training sessions including “Role of Customs Department in Exports” by Mr. Mahmood Ahmed, Principal Appraiser, Customs Dry Port, Multan, “Role of Commercial Banks in exports” by Mr. M. Mehdi Hassan Siddiqi, Manager Export, UBL, Multan, “Role of Custom Agent” by Mr. Waqar Shah, Custom Clearance Agent, Mall Plaza, Multan Cantt, “Facilitation for Exporters by State Bank of Pakistan (SBP)” by Mr. Abdullah Khan, Assistant Chief Manager, State Bank of Pakistan, Multan, “Role of TDAP in Export” by Mr. Hasnain Haider Langah, Deputy Director, Trade Development Authority of Pakistan, Multan and “How to Export” by Mr. Rashid Gillani, Assistant Manager, Trade Development Authority of Pakistan, Multan. In short, attending and presenting our ideas at such seminars offers a myriad of opportunities to all faculty members.
