Online Degree Show of Bachelor of Design, Art and Design Dept
The Department of Art and Design COMSATS University Islamabad presents its Online Degree Show of final year students projects for the “Bachelor of Design” program for semester Spring 2021. The degree show included diverse works of 26 students from the batch of FA17.
The students presented projects that covered a variety of topics ranging from Social Awareness campaigns, Branding and Marketing campaigns, abstract explorations of important ideas and much more. The students used multiple mediums of execution to express their ideas that included Social media marketing strategies, Illustration books and posters, Photography, Film making, UI/UX App and web design, Animation and others. The students explained their inspiration and motivation for their projects and presented their thought process and execution flow.
The students presented their work at the final jury of the semester that took place on 5, 6 7 July 2021. The Jury panel that consisted of most senior academics and senior designers and professionals from the most esteemed Art and Design institutes of Pakistan. The jury panel included Ms. Mehrbano Khattak, Assistant Professor/Senior Designer, Head of Dept, Department of Visual Communication Design, NCA Rawalpindi, Mr Omair Faizullah, Associate Professor/Senior Designer, Head of Department, Dept. of Visual Communication Design, BNU Lahore, and Mr. Muhammad Rafay Anwer Siddiqi, Senior Designer/Art Director from Lahore. All jury members expressed their satisfaction at the quality of work presented by the students and praised the department and COMSATS University for producing talented and social aware designers and artists.
The faculty panel for the Design Thesis subject included Ms Amna Hashmi (Assistant Professor), Mr. Meezan Ali Mir (Assistant Professor), Mr. Mudassar Farooq (Lecturer), Mr. Numair Abbas (Visiting Faculty), Ms Xahra Hafeez (Visiting Faculty) and Ms. Nazia Akram. The students expressed gratitude towards the faculty members and acknowledged their efforts in helping them complete their final projects.
