The Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) Doctoral Networks 2025 program offers one of the best international doctoral training opportunities for aspiring researchers across the globe. Funding from the European Commission’s Horizon Europe Programme, the call is currently open and will close on 25 November 2025.
Degree level: MSCA Europe PhD Scholarships 2025 (Fully Funded) is available to undertake PhD level programs at .
The MSCA program supports the following types of Doctoral Networks:
1. Standard Doctoral Networks
Conventional research-based PhD training programs across Europe and beyond.
2. Industrial Doctorates
Doctoral candidates are co-supervised by academic and non-academic partners, focusing on developing skills in industry and business settings.
3. Joint Doctorates
Highly integrated PhD programs leading to joint or multiple doctoral degrees awarded by participating universities.
Grants: Living allowance
1. Mobility allowance
2. Family, long-term leave, and special needs allowances (if applicable)
3. Costs for research, training, networking activities
4. Coverage of management and indirect costs
Each researcher can be recruited for 3 to 36 months (up to 48 months for Joint Doctorates), and projects can last up to 4 years (5 years for Joint Doctorates).
Eligibility Criteria: Open to candidates of all nationalities. To join a Doctoral Network as a PhD candidate, applicants must meet the following requirements:
1. Must not already hold a doctoral degree
2. Must comply with the mobility rule: not residing or working in the recruiting country for more than 12 months in the past 36 months
3. Must be enrolled in a doctoral program during the project
For consortium eligibility:
1. Minimum of three independent organizations from three different EU Member States or Horizon Europe Associated Countries, with at least one from the EU
2. Additional partners from other countries worldwide can join
