Dear sir/ madam
The German Academic Exchange Service offers funding for selected Master's and PhD courses designed to train young, academically educated professionals from developing countries for leading positions in government, administration and NGOs as well as in the corporate sector.
At present, courses are offered in the following fields:
• Economics, business administration, political economics
• Development cooperation
• Engineering and related sciences
• Regional and urban planning
• Agricultural and forestry sciences
• Natural and environmental sciences
• Medicine and public health
• Social sciences, education, and law
• Media studies
Applications are welcomed from professionals with a first academic degree (16 years of education for Master and 18 years of education for PhD) preferably not older than six years and at least two years of relevant professional experience.
Applicants are expected to prove their ability for the selected degree course by submitting a detailed motivation letter explaining why exactly they have selected the given course and which parts of the course programme they consider particularly beneficial for their future career as well as in how far they consider themselves well enough prepared to complete the selected programme.
Note: Applications for DAAD scholarships - funded by the German Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development - can be submitted together with the application for admission. Applications for admission on the basis of other scholarships (e.g. from the government of the home country or from other organizations) are very welcome, too. Applications must be sent only to the respective course directly!
Successful applicants will receive a DAAD scholarship for the length of the degree course (12-24 months for Masters and 42 months for PhD). Applicants who are admitted to the degree course but who cannot be considered for a DAAD scholarship are welcome to join the programme on their own funds or funded by their government, their employer or any other organization. Language of instruction for most courses is English. DAAD will, however, arrange for a compulsory intensive course of German language for all participants.
Detailed information on the programme can be found in the following link: daad.de/go/en/stipa50076777 . A booklet with information (prerequisite and requirements, application formalities etc) on the offered degree courses and the application process can be found under the given link named: EPOS Brochure 2026/2027 "Development-Related Postgraduate Courses - Educating Professionals for Sustainable Development".
An annually updated list of all funded study courses is also available online at: www.daad.de/epos-info .
We would highly appreciate if you could make this programme known to interested young professionals and spread it among your network and your university.
Yours sincerely,
Qurat ul Ain Naqvi
