Mathematics Seminar Series 2024

Thursday, May 16, 2024, CUI, Shama Munir

The Department of Mathematics hosted a seminar as part of the "Mathematics Seminar Series 2024" at CUI, Wah Campus on May 2, 2024. The seminar aimed to achieve several objectives:
  1. Inspire and unite young researchers by connecting them with esteemed figures in their fields.
  2. Foster research partnerships among scholars to advance ongoing quality research and education.
  3. Encourage the exchange of knowledge among attendees.

Prof. Dr. Azad Akhter Siddiqui, a distinguished mathematician and noted cosmologist with expertise in Mathematical, Physics, and Computational Mathematics, and former Dean of the Faculty of Natural Sciences at the National University of Sciences and Technology, served as the guest speaker. He shared his insights on "Generating Approximate Closed-Form Solutions of Partial Differential Equations" and engaged participants in interactive learning sessions. Through examples and analysis, he demonstrated the derivation and prediction of Closed-Form solutions of PDEs using mathematical model symmetries and numerical computation techniques.

Dr. Muhammad Rafiq, the Head of the Mathematics Department, emphasized the significance of closed-form solutions of PDEs in his concluding remarks. He expressed gratitude to the speaker for enriching students' understanding of mathematical models involving PDEs and expressed the faculty's eagerness to collaborate on research endeavors. The guest speaker also toured the campus facilities, commending the ongoing construction of the new academic block building. The HoD presented a token of appreciation to the guest speaker, extending a vote of thanks.
