Institute of Information Technology, Wah Campus organized second
episode of workshop on Sustainable Urban Development - SUD 2017 - CPEC:
Corridor of the future from October 25-26, 2017. The workshop aimed to
identify the issues and opportunities related to CPEC, and explore the
latest knowledge based skills required to make Pakistan cities
sustainable.
In
this workshop number of invited speakers representing Government
Organizations, Industry and Academia presented their views on the
following issues, challenges and opportunities:
- Sustainable Urban Development and CPEC by Dr. Babar Chohan, Secretary, FBR Islamabad, Pakistan.
- Northern Area Development & CPEC by Mr. Zahid Ullah Shinwari, President, KPCCI.
- Sustainable Development – National Security by Dr. Farrukh Saleem, Executive Director, Center for Research and Security Studies (CRSS).
- What makes Cities Competitive? by Mr. Naveed Iftikhar, Governance Specialist, Economic Reform Unit, Ministry of Finance.
- Harnessing the Potential of Business for Sustainable Urban Development by Dr. Asghar Naeem, Head, Urban & Regional Planning Department, NUST, Islamabad.
- Renewable and Sustainable Energy Development by Dr. Muhammad Azam, Associate Professor, AWKU Mardan.
- CPEC and Entrepreneurial Opportunities by Mr. M. Mohsin Zahid, Assistant Professor, CIIT Wah Campus.
- Key Note Address - CPEC and Sustainable Urban Development by Amir Atta Bajwa, Senior Vice President, The Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FPCCI).
