Delegation from Macquarie University Australia visited COMSATS University Islamabad on 1st September, 2022

September 1, 2022, Islamabad: A three-member delegation from Macquarie University Australia visited COMSATS University Islamabad (CUI) on Sept. 1, 2022. The delegation was led by Dr. Rahat Munir, Professor and Head of the Department of Accounting and Corporate Governance, Macquarie Business School, accompanied by Mr. Tanveer Shaheed, Deputy Director International and Ms. Rumla Tahir, Country Manager.

The Macquarie University is a public sector university established in 1964 in Sydney and is amongst the top 200 universities of the world as per Times Higher Education and QS World University Ranking 2022. Macquarie is home to more than 44,000 students and 3,000 staff and awards more than 10,000 degrees each year.

Prof. Dr. Saqib Gulzar, Dean, Faculty of Business Administration CUI, Mr. Ali Tawab Baloch, Head, International Office, Dr. Usman Ayub, Associate Professor/ In-charge, Department of Management Sciences, Islamabad Campus, Dr. Rao Aamir Khan, Assistant Professor, Management Science, Islamabad Campus, Mr. M. Abbas Baloch, Senior Program Officer, International Office, Mr. Arif Awan Program Officer, International Office and Mr. Zubair Iqbal, Senior Program Officer, International Office welcomed the delegation.

The purpose of the meeting was to explore potential academic and research collaborative and partnership activities between two varsities. Different options of collaboration and partnership were discussed. Prof. Rahat Munir also delivered two interesting talks to the faculty members from Department of Management Sciences of all seven campuses of COMSATS University which were connected online. The titles of both talks were ‘engagement strategies to increase student experience’ and ‘teaching and research strategies for faculty’. A large number of participation of faculty members attended the lecture as well as discussion on question answer sessions.
