A three day Higher Education expo organized by EDEX Sri Lanka by the title “EDEX Expo 2020” was held in Colombo, Sri Lanka from January 17-19, 2020. EDEX is Sri Lanka’s largest education exhibition and job fair. EDEX Expo offers a unique and most comprehensive platform for the youth to seek, local and overseas tertiary educational opportunities and to help them make informed decisions.
Under the patronage of Higher Education Commission, Pakistan; twelve universities from the country participated in this expo; Comsats University Islamabad (CUI) being one of them. CUI was represented in the event by Prof. Dr. Junaid Mughal, Chairman/ In-charge Academics and Mr. Ali Tawab Baloch, Head International Office.
HEC is offering around 1000 merit-based scholarships to Sri Lankan students over a period of 5 years. An attractive CUI stall was set up in the expo in an exclusive space called ‘Pakistan Pavilion’. Promotional CUI posters, banners, video clips and informative brochures highlighting the facilities available, were exhibited and distributed at the stall. It was a great opportunity to showcase various academic programs and research achievements of CUI to attract Sri Lankan students. Detailed information was provided to a good number of visiting students who showed keen interest in coming to study at CUI.
CUI’s participation in the EDEX Expo proved to be a success and has set a strong foundation to open new doors of cooperation with Sri Lanka.
