The 19th episode of the mega national level IT event “Visio Spark” was organized by the Department of Computer Science and Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, COMSATS University Islamabad, Wah Campus on March 18, 2023.
This year, more than 900 students from 35 renowned universities/institutes across Pakistan participated in fifteen different Information Technology and Electrical Engineering related Competitions.
The Honorable Prof. Dr. Akram Shaikh, Director General, Pakistan Scientific and Technological Information Center (PASTIC) & Pakistan Science Foundation (PSF) inaugurated the event as a Chief Guest. He was received by the Chairman Computer Science, Prof. Dr. Ehsan Ullah Munir and HoD Computer Science, Dr. Sheraz Anjum. In his opening remarks the Chief Guest briefly introduced the role of PASTIC in the promotion of Scientific & Technological development of Pakistan. He highlighted that IT is the leading sector where freelancers and private entrepreneurs by using reverse engineering can manufacture their products with available technological resources and would make products to compete with counterparts with their skills and playing a pivotal role in the economy of Pakistan. He motivated the students to initiate their own start up ideas and capture the industry. The welcome address was presented by the Chairman, Computer Science, Prof. Dr. Ehsan Ullah Minir. In his remarks, he welcomed the Guests and Participants. He encouraged the participants who came across Pakistan to participate in this event to showcase their knowledge. He appreciated the support of Director Campus, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Abid,T.I., in the conduct of Visio Spark.

The Director Campus Prof. Dr. Muhammad Abid, T.I., welcomed the Chief Guest of the Closing Ceremony Mr. Raza Ahmed Sukhera, Director Skills and Capacity Development from Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB). In his remarks, he highlighted the need of Industry- Academia partnership. He enlightened the importance and impact of Computer Science and Engineering and motivated the students to participate in such kinds of IT Competitions for grooming themselves. He emphasized on hard work in setting and achieving the targeted goals and explained how it can lead to greater success. He advised the students to get to know about the latest technology available to become a successful.
The Director Campus in his concluding remarks thanked the Chief Guest, Judges, all the Participants, Organizers of the event and Faculty Members for their contribution in making this event a success. He appreciated the efforts of Assistant Professor, Dr. Faisal Shafique Butt and Dr. Mudassar Raza for taking care of all the arrangement and efforts that they put in. He specially thanked the event sponsors Pakistan Software Export Board, Intag Laptop Store, Pakistan Scientific and Technological Information Center, Pakistan Science Foundation and Onlincer for their kind and generous support in the conduct of the event.
