CUI Explores Collaborative Prospects with Chamber of Commerce and Industry Paris, France
The International Office, COMSATS University Islamabad (CUI) took another significant step towards internationalization by holding an online meeting with Mr. Si Ali Assous, Head of International Development, Chamber of Commerce and Industry Paris France (CCI Paris France) on February 12, 2025. The purpose of the meeting was to rejuvenate the partnership with CCI Paris and to explore new collaborative opportunities.
Dr. Hammad Omer, T.I., Head International Office, CUI commenced the dialogue by highlighting the university's achievements and its active engagement with the French Embassy. He expressed a keen interest in renewing ties with CCI Paris and proposed semester exchange programs for CUI students, akin to existing agreements with institutions like Ajman University in the UAE and Middle East Technical University in Turkey. In response, Mr. Si Ali Assous, welcomed the initiative and requested a draft document of understanding for further evaluation.
Mr. Assous detailed two primary avenues for collaboration:
- A consortium of five premier French business schools offering master's programs in management sciences, enabling CUI students to apply to all five institutions through a single application and fee.
- An additional network of fourteen affiliated schools specializing in diverse fields such as business, engineering, culinary arts and more
Ms. Samira Shah, Senior Program Officer and Incharge of the French Desk at IO, recounted previous joint initiatives, including webinars conducted between 2018 and 2019 with CCI Paris. She proposed reigniting the partnership by organizing informational seminars for CUI's students and faculty. Ms. Ayesha Masood inquired about French language courses, to which Mr. Assous suggested exploring the "French for Business" program.
A notable proposition from CCI Paris was the establishment of an interview center at CUI. This facility would streamline the interview process for students accepted into the top five business schools.
Both institutions expressed enthusiasm for revitalizing their partnership, with plans to finalize collaboration details in forthcoming discussions.
