Biography:

Prof. Dr. M. Farhan Shafique received the B.Eng. degree from Hamdard University, Karachi, Pakistan, in 2003, M.S. degree from the University of Paris East Marne-La-Vallée, Paris, France, in 2005 and PhD in Electronic and Electrical Engineering from The University of Leeds, Leeds, U.K in 2010. His research interests involve multilayered-microwave device fabrication on LTCC and thick-film technology, electromagnetic modeling of microwave structures, RF antenna and antenna arrays, Ultra wideband diversity antennas and Metamaterials. He has also worked on the dielectric characterization of materials using microwave techniques. In 2005, he was an intern at Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers, Paris, France, where he was involved in the study of blind frequency and phase estimation in short radio burst. From 2007 to 2010 he was involved in establishing the LTCC fabrication facility at the Institute of Microwave and Photonics, The University of Leeds, UK. He has extensive experience of laser micromachining and multilayer LTCC device modeling and fabrication. He is working as a Professor at the department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, COMSATS University, Islamabad, Pakistan where he has established the MCAD (Microwave Components and Devices) research group. He has also setup a wide range of research facilities in the area of RF engineering which involves 5 state-of-the art laboratories which are; PCB fabrication facility, RF measurement facility, Antenna test facility, rapid prototyping, and Microwave and millimeter wave circuit fabrication facility under various  research grants.
