Biography:

Raja Ali Riaz received his BSc in Mechanical Engineering with Honors (Silver Medalist) from NUST, College of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering, Pakistan (1998), first MS in Control Engineering from NUST College of Electrical Engineering, Pakistan (1999) and second MS in Computer Engineering from UET Taxila Center of Advanced Studies in Engineering (2003). He obtained his Ph.D. in Electronics and Electrical Engineering from University of Southampton, UK (2010). His current research interests are controls/signal processing algorithms in BioMedical Systems. Dr. Raja Ali Riaz has worked on hypnosis regulation in propofol anaesthesia, an automated closed-loop insulin delivery system and Risks reduction control techniques analysis in type-1 diabetes. He is author/coauthor of IEEE/IET/Elsevier/ Springer/IEICE engineering journals with cumulative impact factor of 46 and Google Scholar Citations 533, h-index 11, i10-index 14. He has more than 18 years of experience in teaching, research and management in engineering academia. His managerial experience includes development of various engineering programs from ab initio as an Incharge/Head. He has implemented Outcome based Education (OBE) according to the Washington Accord which is the accreditation requirement of today’s world engineering departments around the globe. Furthermore, he has secured various research fundings from Higher Education Commission, Ministry of Science and Technology, Pakistan in the field of Biomedical engineering. He is an HEC approved PhD supervisor, and is registered with Pakistan Engineering Council as a Professional Engineer. He is currently serving as an Associate Professor at COMSATS Islamabad.
