Biography:

Dr. Kalim Ullah received his PhD in the field of Meteorology from the Institute of Atmospheric Physics (IAP), Graduate University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), Beijing, China in 2011 under the CAS fellowship. He is serving the Department of Meteorology, COMSATS University Islamabad (CUI) since 2005, and currently, Dr. Kalim is working as an Associate Professor (Tenured). He has been served as Head of the Department of Meteorology from 2013-2019. In addition, he has been also served as a Chairman of the Department of Meteorology, CUI, from 7th April 2021- 6th April 2024. He has supervised many MS and PhD students and Post-Doctoral International Researcher. He has received several research productivity awards from the CUI. He has also received 6th HEC Outstanding Research Awards 2015/2016. He has published more than 40 publications in peer-reviewed journals. His research area of interest is precipitation variability, predictability of extreme weather events, regional modeling, South Asian monsoon, and climate change.
