Biography:

Dr. Muhammad Latif currently holds the position of Assistant Professor at the Department of Meteorology, CUI, Islamabad Campus. He earned his MS and PhD in Meteorology from the same esteemed University. Dr. Latif's research portfolio focuses on pivotal areas, including monsoon dynamics, large-scale atmospheric processes and associated climatic impacts, global teleconnections, remote sensing, climate variability and change (past, present & future), and regional and global climate modeling with a specific focus on performance evaluation & uncertainties. In recognition of his academic excellence, Dr. Latif received a prestigious grant from the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan in the academic year 2015-16 to pursue his doctoral research at the Department of Meteorology, Stockholm University, Sweden. Since then, he has been a regular participant at Stockholm University under the International Meteorological Institute (IMI) program, contributing as a research scientists. Dr. Latif's international exposure further includes serving as a research scholar at the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign (UIUC), USA, in 2009. Further enhancing his expertise, he received operational training in the installation and configuration of advanced meteorological instruments from Vaisala, Helsinki, Finland. He has participated in various international training workshops organized by the Abdus Salam International Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP), Italy, and the Institute of Desert Meteorology (IDM), China Meteorological Administration (CMA), China.
