Biography:

Dr. Ahmad Waqas is serving Department of Meteorology, COMSATS University Islamabad since 2005. During his 18 years tenure he has been involved in teaching various courses at both undergraduate and graduate level. Along with teaching and administrative assignments, he has published numerous research articles in highly prestigious impact factor journals in the field of Climatology, Remote Sensing, GIS and Hydrology. His current research interest is mainly focused on applications of satellite remote sensing and machine(deep) learning algorithms for monitoring snow and glacier covered areas of the Hindukush Karakoram Himalaya ranges of Pakistan in changing climate.
