Biography:

Dr. Saleem Ahmed Shah Bokhari did his MPhil in Biochemistry/Molecular Biology from Qauid-i-Azam University, Islamabad, MSc Chemistry/Biochemistry from G.C Lahore and BSc from Gordon College Rawalpindi. He started his career as Trainee Research Fellow at NIAB/NIBGE Faisalabad in 1991-92 but later opted for lectureship and served in Punjab Education Department for several years. He did his PhD from Tsinghua University, Beijing in 2008 under HEC scholarship and joined GC University Lahore as assistant professor where he played a pivotal role in designing curriculum, starting and running first ever MS Forensic Chemistry program in the country. He has been working in Biosciences Department since April 6, 2012 as assistant professor in Functional Genomics Research Group. His expertise includes purification and characterization of enzymes, study of proteins and stress related proteomics. Currently he aspires to work on applied research topics such as production and characterization of recombinant proteins/enzymes of biomedical and industrial importance and herbal remediation of Hepatitis C viral infection.
